What's that? Oh...angels singing.

That's right. Angels are indeed singing.

My foot finally feels 100% back to normal. I cannot explain the sheer excitement this gives me. I had not run in two weeks, smack dab in the middle of half marathon training. For those of you who don't know, training for a 13.1 mile race requires something called running. To say I was nervous, frustrated, angry and scared is an understatement (as I'm sure you all could tell reading my blog since this started). I've gone through hissy fits that had me swearing I wouldn't even go to New Orleans the weekend of the half if I couldn't participate, I would throw away my running shoes, etc. So I'm a drama queen. Or 5 years old. I had gotten emails about readers who experienced similar symptoms and one day the pain just disappeared. Those emails gave me hope. But I also got emails from readers saying they had the same symptoms and had to have surgery or wear a boot. Those emails freaked. me. the. hell. out.

I ran two miles on the treadmill yesterday because I couldn't wait. I felt fine and feel fine today. I will be calling the PT I saw last week just to get the green light on continuing with my training. I will also do the stretches he gave me, religiously, because I truly believe that's what helped me.

I use Hello Kitty stickers because they were the cheapest stickers I could find. Who knew stickers were so expensive? Sorry future children of mine, you are not getting stickers.

Once our insurance finally goes into effect , I really think I will see that PT for preventative measures. He can help me to stretch and condition, which in turn will keep me injury free. I feel like doing a cartwheel yall! This is great, exciting news, and I want to run a marathon right now to celebrate. Ok, not.

I've been doing so well with my eating and counting calories and the scale is definitely reflecting that. I haven't been cheating like I usually do, and don't feel deprived one bit. Leigh Ann and I are doing a spin/pilates class for the first time tomorrow night, and I'm extremely excited to try something new. You'll definitely get a recap of that on Friday. Hope everyone has a happy hump day!

I love an empty gym! And shameless self portraits.

  14. Congratulations!!! Until today I never understood how anyone could feel 'down' about not being able to run... That was until I wasn't able to complete my 5km run because of my heart... Now I feel like a failure! (Currently only on the first stage of grieving.)
But seeing as you could get back to it in two weeks gives me a little hope, despite you and I having completely different problems! Popping off to see the doctor for some remedies and preventatives. :)

  16. Injuries during training are so frustrating! The key is to keep doing other things to maintain as much fitness as possible. I am glad you are healed up and ready to get back to it. Good luck! You got this!
